Vintage Cast Metal Pair Paws Up Scottie Westie Dogs 1940s Base Old Very Kool Big
This is a very unique unusual heavy cast metal base.
It has two adorable Scottish Terriers or Westies facing opposite each other.
It reminds me of art deco items from the deco period.
I thought perhaps these were Frankart at first but I can’t find a signature.
I can’t find anything like them on eBay or Google.
I thought perhaps this was a lamp and a rod came up through the base.
It was some kind of decorative item.
They could be used for plain card holders or with a little dish in between for nuts or candies.
It is heavy and well done.
There is a little slight cracking area as seen in my fourth picture. On the fifth and six picture and you can see that there’s a tiny crack through the front of the air but not the back. These are just age related and are just there but do not detract.
This is not a large area and it does not detract from the piece at all.
The darling Scotty’s are perched and measure 10 inches long by 6 inches high my 4 1/4 inches wide.
The opening for the dish or playing cards is 3“ x 3“ square.
This would look delightful in any room and with your creativity you could have a little dish in there for your rings or your cards.
